Types of Haunting
Residual - an event
that repeats itself over and over. Example: The ghost of a woman is seen walking to the edge of a lake and kneeling.
The ghost is unaware of anyone else and never does anything different. It's like a movie set on a loop.
Intelligent - A
ghost that interacts with the living.
Example: It says your name or moves things
around the house.
Poltergeist - The
term usually describes a mischievous ghost or entity that demonstrates level of violence.
Example: Glasses from the cupboard are
thrown and smashed against the wall.
It is theorized, that this type of activity can
result from a prepubescent female living in the home or more rarely, a male. It is thought that the surge of emotions
that is growing along with their bodies and minds, manifests itself as an external energy causing things to happen.
Almost always, the young person is unaware that they are the cause.
Demonic - Demons
that mean to do harm.
Example: Accompanied by noises like
growling or scratching, black entities appearing like masses. Oppressiveness in the location. Feelings of dread
or depression. Foul odors occurring such as sulfur. This type is the hardest to detect because they can appear to be
non threatening and manipulate the dwellers in the home or building.
